On the morning of September 27th, the signing ceremony of the Software Engineering Undergraduate Education Program, jointly organized by NJIT and the University of Oulu, took place in Room 303, North Administrative Center, Zhiqin Building. A delegation of six, lead by Professor Jouko Niinimäki from the University of Oulu, and NJIT President Sun Yukun, NJIT Vice President Shi Jinfei and NJIT Vice President Zheng Feng attended the signing ceremony.
President Sun Yukun of NJIT first introduced NJIT and the importance of software engineering in Jiangsu Province and Nanjing City in particular. Professor Jouko Niinimäki on his part during his speech believed that both sides could cooperate extensively in several majors and fields with software engineering as the foundation and starting point. In assuring talks, both sides looked into the promising prospects of the cooperation and agreed that, based on the cooperation in Software Engineering Undergraduate Education Program, both sides could establish a Sino-Finnish School with several disciplines and majors. It was agreed that in the following two weeks, staff from both sides should finalize the memorandum of cooperation for the establishment of Sino-Finnish School, to be signed by the Presidents of both sides when the Minister of Education and Culture of Finland visits China. The School of Computer Engineering, School of Communication Engineering, School of Economics and Management and School of Innovation respectively introduced their characteristics and potential achievements in personnel training to the Finnish guests.

Witnessed by the participants, President Sun Yukun and Prof. Jouko Niinimäki signed the agreement on Software Engineering Undergraduate Education Program between Nanjing Institute of Technology and University of Oulu.
After the meeting, accompanied by NJIT Vice President Shi Jinfei, the Finnish guests visited the Industrial Center, School of Innovation and School of Computer Engineering. In the afternoon, the Finnish delegation also visited Nanjing Kangni Mechanical & Electrical Co., Ltd. After the visit, the Finnish guests expressed their satisfaction and appreciation of NJIT's model of integrating industry, education and research.
The Personnel Office, Academic Affairs Office, Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, School of Computer Engineering, School of Communication Engineering, School of Economics and Management, Industrial Center and other functional departments and relevant stakeholders of NJIT were in attendance during the signing ceremony.
